Start Here + About

Retro Tech Tonic is my little corner of the internet for games and tech — from retro through to modern — but with a bit more honesty than the usual hype loop.

I’m not here to pretend every new release is a masterpiece, or that upgrading is always the answer. I love the hobby, I love the hardware, and I love that slightly nerdy feeling of figuring out the “best way to play” something… but I’m just as interested in the why behind it all too — the habits, the nostalgia, the comfort, the creativity, and the way games fit into real life when work is busy and time is limited.

What you’ll find here

  • Reflections – the thoughtful stuff: gaming habits, choice paralysis, slowing down, ownership vs subscriptions, and enjoying what you already have.
  • Evergreen guides & decision posts – practical, long-life articles (especially around hardware, setup, and “what’s worth it” choices).
  • Reviews – straight, human reviews: what clicked, what didn’t, and whether it’s worth your time now.

Who this is for

If you’re the kind of person who still enjoys new and older consoles, loves modern convenience and original feel, and sometimes wants gaming to be relaxing instead of another task list… you’ll probably fit in.
